Wet, Wonderful Fun! The Pashley Picnic
Shall we go or not was the question we repeatedly asked ourselves at 5.30am yesterday morning. It was pouring with rain and we were about to travel 3 hours to Stratford-upon -Avon for the Pashley Jubilee Picnic. But you can’t be British if you mind cycling in the rain! So off we went and I’m so glad we did, we had a fantastic day. As we approached the start cyclists were suitably dressed in tweeds, forties, and rain gear, I went in my jubilee special outfit! We cycled twelve miles in the rain with old-time music blaring from a rucksack, flags waving and ding-dong bicycle bells ringing. Our destination was the stunning Tudor House Charlecote. On arriving we had a welcoming drink of Elderflower cordial and Jubilee cupcakes, after a quick look around the gardens (it was getting very chilly) we were on our way again, back to Stratford where a marque and champagne picnic were waiting.
Of course we didn’t want to miss out on the Queen, so John from Pashley kindly dressed up and arrived Jubilee floatilla style, up the river Avon accompanied by a King and one of our fellow cyclists on a bicycle carrying a wooden fish, to present us with our raffle prizes!

I have been following your blog since it was mentioned by Mollie Makes and I have to say that I am amazed. With this in mind I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award here: https://craftgirl78.wordpress.com/2012/06/05/versatility/

Sounds like such a wonderful day. Would love to do something like that!!
It was really brilliant, so many people were dressed in vintage, 40s tweeds and dresses and so freindly, it was my first cycle with them, there is another with Vintage Velo in Devon, see my link. You must pop over to England, but bring an umbrella!
