Poppy Pashleys Union Bag ( i actually have a picture now!)
Hooray! After a week and a half of feeling very under the weather I can finally say I feel back to my old self again and to celebrate I have been doing lots of sewing and making. The first thing I caught up on yesterday were my Pollies. I really have to be in the right mood to do the papier-mache part of my Pollies, the combination of glue, paper and rubber gloves can be infuriating and tends to lead to many frustrated moans as the paper sticks to my gloves then to the table and then refuses to stick to the actual Polly , but in the end I managed to complete four new Pollies, one dog and a Polly who received a much-needed cosmetic enhancement. This morning I took advantage of the amazing sunshine and hung them in the trees to dry.
Next weekend is the Jubilee weekend and I have bought tickets to the Pashley Picnic Ride on the Sunday 3rd, the route takes us through Stratford-upon-Avon then out into the countryside to Charlecote Country Park and then back to Stratford for a picnic next to the river Avon. Poppy, I have decided, needs to be suitably dressed so this evening I have made
her a Union Jack saddle bag for necessities on the trip such as sweets! I was going to save up and buy her a leather bag but I have really enjoyed making this bag, it didn’t take that long and I can go saddle bag mad and make other designs using my ever-expanding fabric stash, plus it’s just about big enough to hold my much-loved Kindle. Perfect!
Now lets hope this glorious sunshine continues!
