Some Girls Collect Handbags!
Well I have certainly had a week of highs and lows, but nothing clears my head more than going out for a cycle ride, so ‘Poppy’ went on her first expedition to the Wey And Arun Canal, I love this place it is a haven of peacefulness and calm. I can cycle to the sound of birds tweeting, fish bobbing on the water and the old dried up reeds rustling away in the breeze. It’s guaranteed to clear even the most congested head of thoughts.
Now some girls like to collect handbags and shoes, my collection ( and im actually going to admit to this) is old clay pots! I have been collecting handmade terracotta garden pots for about 12 years now, many have been kindly given to me by my work friends but most have been passed onto me by my wonderful dad who also collects them for his ever-expanding ‘Semps’ display. There is something about their wonky handmade shape that I love!
Surely it can’t just be me who likes them?!
And finally, I had to put in this picture of a pig I passed on the way to work the other day, not the usual commuter, it was just sticking its head out
of the window looking rather pink and happy!

Love this post! Love your bike modelling proudly next to the lake, (especially love the wicker basket!). I really like the texture of old terracotta pots. Ps. I think there is a children’s story hidden somewhere in that picture of that ‘smiling’ pig! Were you riding poppy at the time? ….Adventures of Poppy the red bike.
Thankyou, so glad i admitted to my clay pot collection! I seriously have too many. I saw pinky pig while on the way in to work, i was picking up hay for the lambs and there she was, so funny and so happy! Gosh i would love to write about Poppys adventures x
Poppy is lovely! We have lots of terracotta seedling pots, there is definitely something tactile about them.
